Jessica S. Monroe
Ms. Monroe is a partner at Fusco Gallagher Porcaro & Monroe LLP. She joined the firm's predecessor, Schwarzwald McNair & Fusco LLP, as an associate in 2012. Jessica’s practice includes advising and representing unions and employee benefit funds in state, federal, and administrative proceedings, as well as in collective bargaining negotiations and grievance proceedings.
Ms. Monroe is admitted to practice in all Ohio courts and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio. Ms. Monroe was a Chapter Contributor to the 2013 Cumulative Supplement to Labor Union Law and Regulation, which is published by BNA. She is a member of the AFL-CIO Lawyers Coordinating Committee, the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association, and the Federal Bar Association.
Ms. Monroe graduated summa cum laude from Ohio Wesleyan University in 2009 with Bachelor of Arts in Politics & Government and Philosophy. In 2012, Jessica obtained her J.D. from University of Cincinnati College of Law, graduating magna cum laude. During law school, she served as an associate member and business manager of the University of Cincinnati Law Review, which published her comment regarding pregnancy discrimination by employers. Ms. Monroe also served as Co-Chair of the Labor and Employment Law Club and was awarded the Ohio State Bar Association Labor and Employment Law Section Award for outstanding scholarship in the area of labor and employment law.
While attending law school, Ms. Monroe completed externships with Judge S. Arthur Spiegel of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio and with the Ohio Attorney General’s Cincinnati office.
Ms. Monroe is originally from Defiance, Ohio where her mother and grandfather worked as members of UAW Local 211 at General Motors Powertrain.
